Dear patients,

 

Re: Reducing the opening times of Bishopthorpe surgery

 

We have formally asked the CCG (Clinical Commissioning Group) to reduce the number of hours we are open in Bishopthorpe. Our PPG (Patient Participation Group) are also aware of the plans.

 

Due to lone working policies and the changing way we operate since Covid-19 we need to have the option to work from a single site. This will allow clinical staff to work alongside each other more often and free up reception time to answer the phones.

 

The proposed changes will increase the number of hours the reception team work as a whole and no staff member will reduce their hours.

There will be no reduction in the number of appointments offered or clinical time. 

 

We plan to close Bishopthorpe on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons when we have formal approval.
